Mitsubishi is taking its Evo X racing. Working with ADR Motorsport - the team that already builds and runs the two-works Mitsubishis currently competing in the British Rally Championship – Mitsubishi will enter a race-prepped Evolution X into the Britcar Championship.Driven by BTCC regular James Kaye, the Mitsubishi works entry will wear the official red and chrome Ralliart livery and make its public debut at this weekend’s Britcar 24-hour race
'It is anticipated that the engine will develop around 400bhp which, together with the Evo’s four-wheel-drive system and inherently good chassis, should make it a highly-competitive package,' said Kaye. If all goes well, Kaye will contest a full season in the 2009 Britcar Championship series.
William Clay Ford Sr., who died on Sunday at the age of 88, served in numerous positions at the Ford Motor Company, including 32 years as chairman of the Design Committee, and became chairman of the Executive Committee in 1978. Vauxhall/Opel has scooped the European Car of the Year gong – by a single point. The results, announced today, were another surprise in the 44-year history of CoTY, as the Insignia pipped the Ford Fiesta and pushed the VW Golf into third place. The full results for Car of the Year 2009 are:
• 1st Vauxhall Insignia, 321 points• 2nd Ford Fiesta, 320 points• 3rd VW Golf, 223 points• 4th Citroen C5, 198 points• 5th Alfa Romeo Mito, 148 points• 6th Skoda Superb, 144 points• 7th Renault Megane, 121 points
The win is a lift for GM, which is struggling with cashflow problems in Detroit.
